Belgrade Design District

If you are looking for a unique and vibrant place in Belgrade, the Belgrade Design District Čumicevo Sokače is an absolute must-visit. A hotbed of creativity and design, this hidden gem offers a unique experience for art and craft lovers. The place in itself is worth a visit, its dilapidated and unfinished 90s interior design making it somewhat surreal and therefore interesting.

Over the years

The Belgrade Design District has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Originally, this district was known as an industrial zone, where artisans and craftsmen had their workshops. In the 1990s, it was bursting with glitz and glamour here and after these short-lived heyday, bigger and shinier shopping centres appeared all over the city and “Čumić” was forgotten, largely abandoned and left to decay. Over time, however, this stretch began to change and developed into a creative hub for designers and artists.
